Twitter

Okay, I took the plunge and joined Twitter!! So now you can follow me @iaweddings.

I am going to figure out how to tweet from my pre, and stay updated.

Next on the list, make a fanpage for facebook... Anyone have any ideas how to do that? I want it to be separate from my personal, not because I have something about me to hide, but it will be easier for people to find a bridal consultant in Iowa using that over my real name.

So message me or send me an email if you know how, otherwise, I will be figuring it out on my own.

ABC Heartland Region Meeting

(ABC Heartland Region Members at Fall In LOVE with Indy)

So I just got off of the first ever Internet LNG meeting, and it was great!!

Angela Brandt, Bridal Consultant from In the Details Events, Omaha, Nebraska, was the key speaker. She gave us some interesting tips on how to close a deal.

Did you know on average, it takes 250 hours, or 20 hrs a week, or 6 weeks, to orchestrate a wedding!? That is a lot of time, especially if the bride and groom work, and their friends and family work. Doesn't that statistic alone encourage you to think about hiring a bridal consultant??

I am so excited to growing my business, and being able to do so with blogging, and soon, Twitter!
So I want you to follow me, and give me feedback. Thanks!

It's time to go feed Kylin and then bedtime. Not looking forward to helping my hubby shovel the snow in the morning....but at least I'm not a bride that had to move her wedding indoors because of a snowstorm like this one!! (Good thing she hired a bridal consultant to take care of it. :) )

Nite.

New to Blogging

So a lot has happened in the past 3 months.  Before September, Once In A Lifetime Weddings & Events was only an idea...a dream.  I completed my degree as a Professional Bridal Consultant in October of 2008 and was already a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, and I knew the name I wanted for my business that I would someday start, but other than that, it was just a dream.  I love being organized, and love the details that make up a whole.  A lot has happened in a year, including my husband and I buying a house and having a beautiful baby girl, and me, finally making my dream of owning my own business become reality.

At the Business of Brides Annual Conference, one of the tips was to start a blog...so here we go. :)
